This week involved yet another call to the school regarding Julia's stalker. I'm pretty hopeful it's been resolved for good. Somehow the threat of suspension and expulsion FINALLY sank in to "Stalker Boy".
Julia is finally starting to feel OK. Granted, it took a trip to her therapist and several fitful nights of sleep, but she's doing much better.
I, on the other hand, could use some serious sleep. Between Sunday and yesterday, I managed eight hours of sleep - total. Last night, after knowing the school was yet again speaking with "Stalker Boy" and that this was the final straw for them, I managed to relax enough to really zonk out and got nine hours of solid, uninterrupted sleep. Ahhh... But I can still use a few more hours. I swear, with the size of the bags under my eyes, I have enough "luggage" there to spend a month in Europe. lol
Being that I was a zombie (due to lack of sleep), I really didn't do anything extraordinary this week. Just my regular daily "routine" of doing dishes, laundry, and general tidying up. Now I get to spend tomorrow really cleaning, to make up for my lack of Martha-izing this week. It's amazing how fast things end up messy. And I'm curious as to why everything is messier faster now that I'm Martha-izing the house than when I was in regular housecleaning mode?
Oh, one HUGE thing for me though. Our main bathroom shower head wasn't working. Water was coming out of the bathtub faucet but when the shower switch was "flipped" for the shower, nothing came out. Patrick told me to get a handyman in to fix the shower head. Well, after reading about basic plumbing on Martha's website, I decided to take the shower head off and take a look. Turns out, the washer for the fixture was lodged in the opening where the water from the pipe goes into the shower head. Quick, easy fix that saved us some money! And I got to feel all macho. lol
Of course, the money saved is now going towards Patrick's car instead. He called me he had a flat tire when he was leaving work and, upon taking off the tire, he discovered it was flat because a spring popped off the car and the spring slashed the tire. Nice. :( It had to be towed to our mechanic (lucky for us, our auto club membership covered this) and we'll hear in the morning how much we're looking at to fix this. I'm really hoping it won't be more than $250 or $300. Otherwise, I'm doubting if it's worth it to put more money into this car (it's over 8 years old) or if we should just see how much of a trade-in we can get. Uggh. Can't we get ONE week without any drama of any kind?!?
Time to get some sleep. Maybe all this week's crap will lead to a better week next week. I hope so, as I really need one.
